Love to add my bias - but our upcoming Halo 4: King of the Hill app should be pretty compelling given its not screaming “Look, I have AR!” but rather making the computer vision aspect seamless to the overall experience. Its out on Nov 1, so take a look.
I’m partial, but I’d say location based games will begin to show significant traction as those who “use” foursquare, etc will be looking for a deeper engagement, and the games become better. A tweak to how “social” games are described as such.

The term that is getting more traction now is “mixed reality”, where digital elements are being placed in the real world as seen through various screens. AR browsers like we have in our NBA game, or through Layar, do a good job of this now. Much like various genres of games, AR and VR will apply to the type of elements you will be engaged with - VR will be full digital world immersion supported with various headsets, goggles, and lenses, while AR will employ mechanics that have the user/player interacting with the real world elements that will in turn impact their gameplay experience.
