- Not all your friends / connections are on LinkedIn. And there isn't a lot of overlap (yet) between your LinkedIn and Facebook friends. So, with apps like Branchout, you can leverage your facebook social graph as well, for job search.
- Your facebook friends are relatively better buddies to help with intros. for a job.
- They are more likely to know the 'real' you (from all that you share on facebook) - and that would give them a better sense of comfort in making an intro for a job if they see a fit.
- Besides, LinkedIn has 80 million users, and Facebook has 500 million. So, at the face of it, with facebook, you are more likely to leverage a larger social graph.
That said, LinkedIn will continue to play it's role in recruitment, job search, professional networking. Apps like Branchout, Jibe, provide value adds that you may not want to miss out on.
