Chris Williams, Tech Entrepreneur: Partner Widenet Co...
I'm a follower of Jesus Christ, a husband to Christy, a father to Carly and Grayson, a small business owner, a total computer nerd, a lover of music, and a very happy guy.
After graduating from OHS in '99 I went to JSU and worked full time for what seemed like an eternity, only to get a degree that ceases to exist, in a field that changes so rapidly that degrees are virtually useless without 12 years experience. So when I say I started my own business, it was more of a necessity than a leap of faith.
Luckily I married a very trusting and supportive woman named Christy "Goss" Williams. We have a daughter named Carly, born in May of 2005, 9 days before our two year anniversary. We also have a son named Grayson who was born in June of 2006. Now we're definitely done. We have a son and daughter and that's good with me!
I played trumpet in the Marching Southerners from 1999 - 2001 and loved every minute of it. In a round'about way, that led me to be the choir director of Cheaha Baptist Church, which Christy and I left for various reasons. We are now members of Antioch Baptist Church on McIntosh Road in Oxford.
My company, WideNet, keeps me busy now-a-days as we've grown to well over 300 clients. I love putting my time and talent into something that I own and know that it's truly a residual blessing in many many ways.
