Assuming the chair is thrown past, not at, the VCs (as the question states), then the throw could demonstrate the founder's physical strength and/or throwing accuracy. This is especially if the chair is an Aeron (which it no doubt is), and the VCs are more than 10 feet away. Physical strength could be important if the founder is operating in an aggressively competitive industry.
