Having gone to their website, many. They're asking people to buy the product on spec, right now. Their 'FAQ's' section has simple, uninformative answers, and I can't see how it's different than other meal replacement mixes.
Here's one:
Q: "Is there a vegan version of Soylent?"
A: "We're pretty sure it will be Vegan! We'll be publishing the final ingredients in a few weeks."
Really?
Another:
Q: "Is it safe?"
A: "Everything in soylent is GRAS (generally recognized as safe) by the FDA. The founders and scores of DIYers have been living on Soylent for months and there is much evidence that is considerably healthier than a typical diet."
Produce this evidence.
It sounds like they're selling, in essence, 7 meals for $65, and you won't get it until December. No nutritional information. They said August, but that's about over. At $9 a meal, I can get prepared meal replacement drinks for much much less. Hell, I can get enough real food for three meals for $9.
It's also a little confusing -- would I be getting 7 packets for 7 days? It says one package contains a full day's nutrition. Or do I get three packets per day?
I just haven't seen anything but a bunch of young white guys putting a marketing scheme on an existing product.
