Look up Yann Arthus-Bertrand. He founded the Altitude Agency in 1991. He specialised in aerial photography and ran a picture library (500,000 pictures taken in more than 100 countries by more than 100 photographers).

His book 'Earth from Above' has some very good pics in it.
