Rather than circle endlessly for limited metered spaces, head for one of the public garages. They are relatively inexpensive and your best bet if you don't know the area well.

Note that the metered spaces are free after 6 PM and on Sundays.

Good info here:

Bikes and 49 cc scooters can park on the sidewalks.

Asheville has predatory towing: Companies prowl and find illegally parked vehicles and tow them with heavy fines to get your car back. Even if a business is closed, you will get towed.

Rankin garage is my favorite, as it's centrally located, free for the first hour and usually not too crowded.

Fairly easy.  It can sometimes be difficult to find on-street parking downtown, but there are plenty of garages that will have spaces.

The Aloft Hotel on Biltmore Avenue has a public garage with plenty of parking spaces. Beware of parking anywhere near the US Cellular Center on special event weekends. The College Street garage across from City Hall and Pack Place Park usually has spaces available.
