Using dogs to hunt anything is a grotesque abuse of the relationship between us and our canine companions in today's world. The use of dogs to pursue other predatory animals like racoons, fox, coyote, bobcat, cougar, bear or wolf is an obscene abuse of our relationship with dogs and with nature in general. The barbarism of using dogs to hunt is evident from the injuries sustained by the animals they chase as well as the injuries they frequently sustain when they chase larger prey. Every year idiots that use dogs to hunt bear try to receive compensation when their dogs are horribly injured or killed by the animals they were chasing. If we were as enlightened as we'd like to think the very act of setting dogs on wildlife would be criminalized in every state of the union.
