Have a look here at points 18 and 19. Domain Name Registration Service Agreement They send notifications of domain expiration, 60 days in advance. If your credit card is on record, they will debit your account 60 days before a domain expires.
That is weird, but all still fine I suppose. But, in my case, my credit card on record expired and I never updated it in my account. 2 days prior to my domain expiring, I noticed they have not debited my card yet, and decided to renew the domain manually anyway.
96 hours later, the domain has been suspended because it was not renewed, even though I have an invoice from them indicating the date and time I renewed it prior to domain expiration.
I now have to wait 7 hours, for their “domain specialist” to come online. And their attitude is that this is my mistake. Going to be interesting to see now if they are going to actually force me to pay their $150 “penalty fee” even though I renewed the domain way in advance.
Personally I would steer clear of these guys. In 13 years, I’ve never come across a registrar with these kind of policies in place.
You would think if they could not auto renew the domain, they would have sent a notice of such? Makes me think, they do this on purpose so they can enforce their insane policies.
