How do you properly uninstall BitTorrent Sync on Mac OS X?

Why Tip: The item "BitTorrent Sync.app" can not be moved to the Trash because some of its plugins are in use.

How do I uninstall Sync?
Before uninstalling, make sure you've quit Sync 2.0.

Windows
Go to Control Panel -> Programs -> Uninstall program -> click BitTorrent Sync -> Uninstall.
Remember to check "Remove settings". After that, go to %AppData%\ BitTorrent Sync folder and make sure all the files are deleted from it.

Mac
Delete BitTorrent Sync from Applications, then go to Users/username/Library/Application Support and move the BitTorrent Sync folder to trash.

Sometimes Sync 2.0 will not get removed from Mac immediately due to Sync Finder Extension running.
If that's the case, go to Applications -> Utilities -> Activity Monitor. In the Process Name column find 'Sync Finder Extension', click it -> in the dialog box hit 'Quit' or 'Force Quit'.

Please note that each folder added to Sync contains a hidden .sync subfolder with an Archive in it. TheArchive stores copies of the files which were either deleted or modified in the course of synchronization. Over time, the Archive may grow in size and take up a lot of space on the hard disk. Since uninstallation of Sync 2.0 will NOT remove the archived files, it's advisable to remove the hidden .sync folder manually, once uninstallation is complete.

Linux
Delete btsync binary, then delete .sync folder which is placed near the binary. If you were launching it with a config, delete the 'storage_path'.

Android
Tap the Settings (cog) icon -> Apps -> Sync -> Uninstall -> Confirm uninstallation.

iOS
Tap and hold the Sync icon till it starts to wobble and a small cross appears at the top of it -> Tap the cross, then confirm you want to delete Sync.

Windows Phone
On start, flick left to the App list -> Tap and hold the Sync icon -> Uninstall -> When asked for confirmation, tap yes.

I would suggest getting an app called AppZapper.

AppZapper correctly uninstalls apps (instead of just deleting the actual app file, it scours your hdd/sdd for all files related to this app and deletes them).

I still try to help you remove the BitTorrent Sync.app on Mac correctly although this question was posted long time ago. Actually, you can do that manually without any third party uninstaller. After you uninstall BitTorrent Sync.app with the built-in uninstaller, you have to delete all associated files and leftovers of it. Otherwise, you probably will get problems when trying to install other security software on your Mac. Please find out the junk files individually in these folders: ~/Library/Preferences, ~/Library/Application Support, ~/Library/Caches and delete them to the Trash directly. Personally, uninstalling BitTorrent is almost the same as the uninstall of uTorrent. Just keep in mind that, you had better avoid installing those sponsored junkware during the software install.

Example, some user even reported his or her Norton 360 forced the uTorrent to go, automatically.

Learn the proactive way to keep your system secure from internet’s adware, foistware ( * even some legit download like Skype, Bing Desktop offered users potentially unused installations) even half-malware here.
