How many apps does the average iPhone user have installed?

26 but the strange thing is that most smartphone users don’t typically use/ download much apps.

Today’s consumers are spending over 85 percent of their time on their smartphones using native applications, but the majority of their time – 84 percent – is spent using just five non-native apps they’ve installed from the App Store.

Those five apps will vary from person to person. For some, their top five could include social media or gaming, while others may spend more time in instant messaging.

That's a difficult question to answer. Since room is not an issue for me I have all the Adobe apps, Microsoft apps, and since I can watch all my channels from my TV provider on my iPhone, Apple TV & iPad mini, I also have all the channel apps (ABC to HBO). My streaming services, Amazon video, Netflix, Vudu, Disney, etc. To make sure I'm never caught in a position where I can't email or draft a document I have Gmail, outlook, iCloud, PDF apps, document scanning apps, plus all the Apple word processing and spreadsheet apps. Most every social networking app as well but this is only possible because I have 128GB of storage.

I have over 250. I like to download lots of different apps that offer the similar features and compare them. Or if I see one on the news or otherwise advertised, I’ll download and give it a try.

I only actively use about 20 apps… . Skype, Facebook, Google Sheets, Alexa (and the other apps for my smart devices), Mail, Music, Messaging, Xfinity apps, Safari, Amazon, Ebay, workout apps like Interval Timer, Fitbit, 8fit, and Achievement, other productivity apps like Centriq and LastPass and Centriq.

Its interesting to take a moment and assess what I’m actually using.

I just recently discovered the relatively new feature on iOS11 under Settings > General > iPhone storage where you can review which apps are installed, and when they were last used. You can delete apps from this screen now. I’m not sure how long this feature has been available, but I’ve been waiting for it for years.
