If you slept with smarter people then they might have mentioned that the value of an employee is what they deliver, not when they go home.

Sometimes I’ve worked 40 hour days and in one case turned up at lunchtime carrying pizza and cakes, said in effect “carry on chaps” and went home. That’s what professionals do. You hire good people to make good decisions including their time, it was a bad decision to hire you.

Your job is to catch staff doing things right.

Apparently you don’t know that. I shudder to think what else you don’t know.
