When flying on my first trip to Korea I was extremely excited. Traveling thousands of miles from home to an unfamiliar country and culture is something that got my adrenaline rushing, hadn’t slept much the night before the flight.
Boarded the plane with a few dozen children seated behind me, they must have had a class trip to the States because there weren’t many parents, and some of them were acting out (getting up to ‘use the restroom’ during take off being one such example)
Then as we were in the air, some of them took their shoes off…
and I noticed they hadn’t worn socks…..
I tried choking back tears as though I was cutting onions
An odor of sweaty foot permeated the cabin. It was almost as though 30 twelve-year olds all decided to not wear socks/do sock laundry going home and remove their shoes together in one final act of united rebellion before meeting their family.
I found a blanket and used it to cover my nose until the meal arrived.
Drank as many free beers as possible to fall asleep and make breathing bearable.
Yes- Koreans (Japanese & Chinese too) possess body odor. It is different, but it exists.

I’m a Mongolian. I don’t have body odor. Feet can stink if they go unwashed. I think that’s normal for everyone. However i just can’t develop armpit odor. It’s called hulmas in Mongolian but very few people have it. I always notice a strange, musky smell after white people recently used a public toilet seat. It’s very strong and permeating and i find it intolerable. I gag and leave the toilet. Is it thigh smell or crotch smell i don’t know. All i know is it is there every time a white man pulls down his pants in a public toilet. I have to use a different toilet. I hear white people have armpit odor. I believe it but i haven’t smelled it yet. Not sure if i want to.
Yes some people don't have body odor but it is not only related Asian and Koreans even in Europe, minor Asia and South Asia the population without body odor has been found. The number of the population without body odor is very high in Korea and eastern south Asia.
Koreans are “genetically mutated” to have less of a sweating problem than others, according to research.
The University of Bristol research suggested only 0.006 percent of the Korean population have the ABCC11 gene, a major culprit behind the odor problem. The research was based on the Allel Frequency Database (ALFRED), a gene database designed by Yale University. Researchers said the Korean ratio was the world’s lowest.
“The ABCC11 gene is basically the single determinant of whether you do produce underarm odor or not,” said Ian Day, a genetic epidemiologist at the University of Bristol who published a paper about the ABCC11 gene on Livescience, a science news website. “The research showed that while only 2 percent of Europeans lacked the smelly gene, most East Asians and almost all Koreans lack this gene.”
These mutation also found in many other population also.
Reference
The ABCC11 genetic trait dysfunction is traced to modern day Mongolia 40,000 years ago to one single group of people. Since then, these people spread and mixed. Korea being a hermit country has nearly 100%, northern China has 97%, south China 86%, and Japan 88%.
As you can see it is simply proof of Asian blood. It is nearly non existent in Africa due to lack of Asian population there throughout history. But occurs sometimes in whites who had invasions from the Huns etc.

Go to Japan or Korea and then take a metro when it's crowded and come back here to tell us if Koreans and Asians don't have body odor hahaha.
Do the same in summer when it's hot and sticky, too! I really want to see in how many seconds you will change your mind.
