Is there not much street harassment in China towards women?

Except a few occasions when I was out with friends in a bar-studded area in Shanghai and Beijing, I've never been harassed in China. I think that was because lots of jerks get nasty when they see a Chinese woman with western men. Otherwise street harassment is not a part of the culture, people leave you alone and when you need help, they are very friendly and polite. Men would engage in sensible conversation with you first when they are interested, no cat calling.

Yes,most Chinese men can behave themsleves and seldom do they cross the line,if a woman really hot, they usually tend to stare at them and drown themsleves in an imagination of their own,you know what happen. But I am not saying they won't harass a beautiful girl,I just stress the amount-a few

I'm not Chinese but I know of a Chinese friend who was once harassed by a man in an alley (he exposed himself to her and her friend). She was understandably shaken up by it, but didn't feel as though she needed to report it to the police and did not seem convinced that they would do anything even if she did. I don't know how common this is but I think her reluctance to do anything implies that it may happen fairly often but women don't feel comfortable with sharing.
