I do not believe that Transformers are real or even that the films are good, but I’ve gone with my children because at 8 they wanted to see it.

This is despite me being a Computer Science graduate and having some doubts that Transformers represent Artificial Intelligence in a realistic way.

I do not fear that seeing giant robots fighting will undermine my belief in CompSci, nor as an atheist do I believe that an hour of superstitions set to music will change my views.

Go with the in-laws if it makes them happy.
