What do people in the forecasting community (e.g., people who write papers in journals of forecasting) think of the (sometimes implicit) climate forecasts made in discussions of climate change?

In particular, I'm interested in knowing how representative of the forecasting community Armstrong and Green's views, as documented on Forprin Home, are:

Nate Silver discusses Armstrong's critique in Chapter 12 of The Signal and the Noise, which is about climate change.
