There are actually several different meanings for “black pill”, but the most common is the incel/Men’s Rights one, so I assume that’s the one you’re asking about.

As has been suggested, the term is a variant on the “Red Pill” in the movie The Matrix. In that film, the protagonist is offered a choice between a “Blue Pill” that will return him to his normal life with his current beliefs, and a “Red Bill” that will show him the true nature of reality but take him out of his regular life forever.

The difference is that in the film, taking the “Red Pill” is an empowering action. Taking the “Black Pill” essentially means learning the true nature of reality is a way that is disempowering. Yes, the deck really is stacked against you, and can never be beaten. Yes, it all really is a conspiracy, but it can never be overthrown. In a way it harks back to the old “existential horror” stories written by authors like Lovecraft.

So what’s this got to do with involuntary celibacy? In that community, “taking the black pill” is accepting that community’s view of attraction to women. This view essentially comes down to:

  • The only factors in a man that affect a woman’s sexual attraction are subtle factors of looks related to genetic components, such as jaw angle, facial bone structure and “canthal tilt” (which there seems to be a particular obsession with).
  • These factors are absolutely determinant of a man’s success with any and all women. No woman will ever accept a man without them. Furthermore, given the opportunity no women will ever reject a men with them, regardless of the situation, her opinions or anything else. And the opportunity will always be given, because men will hit on anything.
  • A woman who enters a relationship with any man who doesn’t have these traits is doing so for other reasons. Sex will be rare or absent, while she will either have affairs with men with those traits or have been “already sexually satisfied” by sex with them when she was younger.

This is the “black pill” because it explains most male incel’s experiences with women and is also utterly disempowering to them. It’s also wrong and rather hateful. But that’s what it is.

The other meaning of “black pill” is a piece of evidence that the above statement is true. The most common of these are screenshots from Tinder showing women’s interaction with fake profiles created with attractive men’s pictures. Typical examples include:

  • A woman responding immediately when a handsome male profile responded to her greeting with “Number?”. This was considered to prove that, contrary to what many men are told, what a man said to a woman was irrelevant compared to his looks.
  • A particularly infamous case was “the atomic blackpill”, which showed a number of women responding to a profile created on Tinder for a handsome man (named “Ray”, if it matters) which contained text in his writeup stating that he had committed child abuse, even after he actively pointed it out in chat. Of course, there was no corresponding profile with the same looks but no such writeup to compare with; but it was easily taken as a negative sign by men who had zero responses.
  • A similar example had an attractive male profile with profile text stating “No nigga chicks and no indians, keep the fried chicken away” yielding responses.

You think Donald Trump is extremely sexist? Well, make sure to be seated because this gets far more extreme and crazily wierd.

First off, lets start off with a few definitions as the Black Pill is a derivative of Red Pill structure.

The pill: It is a concept from the movie The Matrix. It is basically a synonym for accepting a “true” philosophy for life after having been lied to for a long time by society. To take an [insert color here] pill is to follow that philosophy in one’s life and accept the truth about life.

MGTOW: Men Going Their Own Way. It basically argues that men should not be loyal to women romantically because women are stupid, crazy, and/or disloyal. To them, women are genuinely sex objects.

Red Pill: A “self improvement” philosophy which involves becoming a “true man” i.e. a hyper masculine playboy rolling in the dough who doesn’t give a shit about the opinions of anyone.

One of the most popular Red Pill sites is Return Of Kings , which as the name states, is essentially about how to become a king in the modern world. If you really want to understand what motivates and interests them, just read the headlines.

Here are the top 5 current headlines:
IT’S TIME TO BRING BACK THE GOD APOLLO TO OUR LIVES
MEN HAVE STARTED TAKING CLASSES RUN BY FEMINISTS TO UNLEARN BEING MASCULINE
HOW TO MEET GIRLS WHEN YOU HAVE PRACTICALLY NO TIME TO RUN STANDARD GAME
HOW THE SEXUAL INQUISITION AGAINST MEN STARTED
TODAY’S CONSERVATIVE HAS BECOME YESTERDAY’S LIBERAL

As you can see, they have a mixture of lifestyle content, sexual content (for all Red Pill members, sex is a pretty major motivator for what they do), and political content.

The Red Pill is sexist to be sure, but the right kind of women are still welcome in their lives in some form or another. Getting married is still supported in Red Pill culture, as is having a girlfriend and hooking up with women. They do not view women as equals or consider them to be capable of leadership, but do think they can contribute to society in their own way.

They advocate treating non-feminist women with a certain level of respect (as it would have been defined 100 years ago), are less supportive of cheating in a relationship than a thought they would be, and have actually gained a not so insignificant following of women who are interested in a more traditional kind of relationship and are attracted to Red Pill guys.

^^ That does seem like it was written generously to Red Pill and it is, but I want to clearly show the differences.

Now, onto the Black Pill.

The thesis of Black Pill is essentially that women are a menace and are the enemy of a certain class of men (basically the ones they refuse to have sex with). Saudi Arabia has a more favorable view of women than these fellows.

They advocate treating women with disrespect whenever possible,
find a way to blame women for ruining everything from NASA not returning to the moon to mass shootings,
hold challenges to see how long they can avoid speaking to women,
spend a great deal of time discussing how women are evil,
celebrate videos they find depicting violence against women,
argue that women cannot truly be depressed,
advocate for only tipping men,
generate documents such as “101 Reasons to Hate Women”,
spend a great deal of time trying to emotionally hurt women,
and frequently muse about “the rope”

I have links for all this, but don’t put them up as the content definitely violates BNBR.

The Black Pill is an extraordinarily toxic cesspool.

It’s simple really, the black pill is yet another allusion to the original matrix movie just that this time “taking the black pill” means learning/accepting you are FUBAR and there’s nothing you can do about it, not even got back to your oblivious former self.

Is it an exaggeration? well yes and no: a lot of these individuals are very young so you might ask why they think they are already done for, but there’s also many people with serious issues in these groups. I took a glance at some of their forums and almost immediately I found young people who were abused by parents and guardians, lived and still live in crippling poverty, were relentlessly bullied and sexually harassed at school and were told some of the most vile insults a person can receive, sometimes by their own family.

Many of them were young men from minorities that talk about being discriminated against relentlessly for not being white and at the same time being ostracized by their own communities and families, so needless to say they are quite literally alone. Elliot Rodgers was part of this group, he was half-asian and had some serious identity issues. This last group were particularly resentful of the current cultural ideas of equality saying that its all make-believe and they are still being discriminated against, some even point out the same people now talking about equality are the same that used to attack them for their race which only adds insult to injury. Others who were white complained that not all whites are privileged citing their awful personal situation as an example, an yet they are told to repent.

As for the difference with the red pill types, this last group believe they have found “the truth” and thus how things actually work, thus they are now able to better navigate through life and get back at the system. The black pill types are in many cases ex-red pills for whom the novelty wore off and the lack of results got to them. No surprise here since the vast majority of “life advice” I seen coming from the red pill community is as much crap as the life advice you can get from blogs and cheesy youtube channels.

Basically the black pills simply got tired of trying and gave up. Even the MGTOW (another community, tons of overlap here) believe they can have better lives by simply avoiding marriage and family life since they say their problem is the legal system is against them and they could lose everything in a divorce including their kids. Some point at how common law in some states and in Canada now considers co-habitation as marriage so you’ll be stuck paying alimony to an ex-girlfriend meaning they can’t even have long term relationships without being entrapped by the courts. Others show the case of France where paternity tests are banned meaning that men can’t even know if they are the father of their kids. I’m not going to argue if they are right or not to avoid commitment, the point is that they believe they can still get ahead in life.

The black pill types think there’s no point even trying anymore. The red pills want to win at life and the MGTOW want to protect themselves, but the black pills just want everything to end already.

Why is this blog called “The Black Pill”? Originally, it started out as a blog called OmegaVirginRevolt(which is still evident from the URL), but over time it became clear to me that I had gone beyond a blog called “OmegaVirginRevolt”. The name, “OmegaVirginRevolt”, had outlived its usefulness. When I first started writing as OmegaVirginRevolt, I believed that we were on the verge of the Mens’ Rights Movement (MRM) actually begining to rollback feminism. While I think that is still true, it is taking longer than I thought. That was because there was additional threats to the MRM besides the main enemy of feminism/women. Since around 2009 or so, the biggest such threat to the advancement of the MRM has been what I call The Paleo-Game Cult, an intersection of the paleo diet, conspiracy theory, Roissysphere game, and several other things. (This has also led me to investigate more how feminists are interested in game and how it could be used by feminists to block the advancement of the MRM.)

It became clear to me that taking on The Paleo-Game Cult (and other similar threats to the MRM) was the most important thing that can be done right now for the MRM. These groups are trying to attach themselves and take over the MRM for their own purposes which do not benefit men or advance Mens’ Rights. I wanted to name the blog with a concept that would encompass all of this. Paragon came up with the idea of “The Black Pill”. Lots of people like to use the analogy from the Matrix movies of the “blue pill” and the “red pill”. The “blue pill” represents mainstream feminism which is a delusion whereas the “red pill” is supposed to represent the anti-feminist truth. What has happened with the “red pill” is that the concept has been colonized by the Paleo-Game Cult. The “red pill” instead of meaning anti-feminist truth, now means alternate/non-mainstream delusion that still pedestalizes women. It now means non-mainstream feminism of the Paleo-Game Cult form. Just because something isn’t mainstream like the Paleo-Game Cult does not make it truth or anti-feminist. The “red pills” believe incorrectly that they are anti-feminist, and the delusion that feminism can be solved using personal solutions. They believe that using game and the paleo diet they can expel feminism from their lives. This is a delusion. When Paragon came up with the idea of the “black pill”, he recognized the nature of feminism/women being a systemic problem. Systemic problems have no personal solutions. The “black pill” is about that principle and more. It is about reality as it is and facts. It stands in opposition to both mainstream feminist delusions (the “blue pill”) and non-mainstream feminist delusions (the “red pill”). Disagreeing with the mainstream does not automatically make something truth.

For the record, there are those such as A Voice For Men who still use the “red pill” idea. AVFM does not subscribe to the Paleo-Game Cult delusions and is about reality and facts. Even though it calls itself a “red pill” site, AVFM (and many other true MRM sites that call themselves “red pill” sites) are actually “black pill” sites.

The “black pill” represents the main focus of this blog that provides a true anti-feminist option beyond the mainstream and non-mainstream feminist delusions. Since this is my personal blog, it will also include my personal experiences dealing with feminism and any topic I consider to be related.

If I understand it correctly, the pills are a reference to a scene in The Matrix where Morpheus offers the main character two pills, red and blue respectively.

The blue pill will allow him to wake up in the simulation without any memory of the exchange, while the red pill will allow him to understand that his current reality is a simulation.

Hence “Redpillers” thinking that they’ve cracked the secrets of their social reality, or whatever the group thinks.

What is the Black Pill?

I had to look this up since I didn't think the question was about actual black pills.

From Urban Dictionary: Black Pill

TOP DEFINITION

Black Pill

A catastrophic prophecy or spiritless prophesying for the future that is not necessarily grounded in reality. A red pill gone hopelessly bleak.

From reddit:[1]

I believe it's just an off shoot of the redpill. Many of these 'pill' ideologies are kinda based on shaky foundations and have a lot of dissenters in them who will break away and form their own groups when they feel like they had enough.

Essentially, the red pill believes they realize the 'truth' about reality and that you can win over the system if you understand that. They also believe that anyone can change and become successful if they put in the work.

The black pill believes in a more nihilistic concept that the red pill doesn't agree with. They believe that reality is rigged and that some people are destined to fail no matter what they do. They also oppose a lot of red pill teachings as offering false hope to these people destined to fail.

In short, I believe the black pill is just a splinter group of red pillers who find some sort of power in nihilism.

So basically, the black pill is a very dark version of the red pill. You can read more about the red pill here at Red pill and blue pill and Red Pill.

There are basically two different kinds of “Black Pill”, with variations even within the two types.

First is the most commonly known form of Black Pill, the Incel. Others have touched on this already, so I don’t feel the need to elaborate on that type further.

The other form of Black Pill has nothing to do with being an Incel. Its just a general belief that “all hope is lost”. That society is corrupt, degeneracy is the norm and for some people the cards ARE stacked against them, and there is really nothing that can be done to change that fact, so just live your life the best way you can, while you can still do so.

The Blue Pill - Lives in a fantasy world, nothing is wrong, the status quo is fine.

The Red Pill - Lives in reality, believes you can fight back against reality and change it for the better.

The Black Pill - Lives in reality, believes reality is flawed, doesn’t do anything about it because nothing can be done. All attempts are futile.

There is also the :

White Pill - Reality is flawed, but can be changed if you embrace THE LAWD. (Basically the Christian fundamentalist Red Pill)

Green Pill :

Type 1 - Basically vegans. Angry Vegans.

Type 2 - Naturists. Reject the technological modernity of humanity and embrace the ye old roots of living in nature.

Other “Pills” Probably exist, I just don’t know any others.
