Payoff.com is a social finance platform enabling communities to fulfill their individual and collective dreams.
We launched public beta in January 2011 and have collected 1,000+ dreams, of which over 90% are related to money. Payoff helps people fund their dreams and reach their goals, like saving for a house or vacation, adopting a child, paying off credit cards, and starting a business, in addition to connecting them with other people working towards the same things.
The current product enables users to share their dreams, set up goals, link and track financial accounts, earn badges, and receive cash Sur-Prizes for progress. We provide tools from top-quality partners, as well as educational content to help move users to action and success. Ultimately, we provide a more intuitive way for users to understand how they are spending their life -- it’s not about the dollars, but it’s about the positive use of money, time, talent, and charity.
We aim to own dreams and achievement on the web. Payoff will create meaningful social connections and dialogue through dreams, goals, implicit communities based on personal transactions (the “real-life check-in”), and our partners. In addition, our relevance and recommendation engine is guided by a Science Advisory Board, with leaders from Cal-Tech, USC, and Northwestern.
We recognize that achievement and financial behavior, like most decisions, is driven by emotions, not budgets and lists, and we are reaching people in this emotional space. One user told us, “I feel more encouragement from these badges than I think you will ever know. I'm not the most emotional person but I have been so poor for most of my adult life trying to get through school that the day [the] "STASH" badge was awarded to me I cried!”
Payoff is founded by Scott Saunders (Walz Group, Inc 500) and Eden Warner (pre-revenue to profitability CFO at Fandango), along with folks from Yahoo! and SpotRunner.
You can view a video about us at and contact us at scott@payoff.com.
This game is NOT Mafia Wars with a map slapped on top of it. Here are our key features:
- Location is key, it's not about geography, it's about people's inherent affinity to their favorite spots. While the game can be played from your office, players will derive more value from moving around. We aim to be able to direct players to specific locations for special events.
- A venue is a natural opportunity to drive organic social team play without the usual headaches involve with explicit teamwork. We call this asynchronous dynamic massively co-operative gameplay.
- Our game integrates existing social graph information into the game narrative. Since the game fiction is layered on top of the real world, people will immediately feel like they are playing in a vibrant active game world even if few people are actually playing in their area.
Revenue Model: - virtual goods and offers - game engine is a platform for creating compelling event based games with a strongly branded narratives and the ability to generate hyperlocal activity through location based directives.
Our first beta test is set for late March. It will launch first on iOS platform but it will be multiplatform, including Facebook.

Strike a Pose is a mobile startup that helps users get instant feedback (within a few seconds) on their fashion shopping, allowing them to purchase with confidence and to take the shopping experience outside the four walls of the retailer, while simultaneously bringing more people into those four walls.
Our goal is to make people feel secure in their fashion purchases and help reduce buyer’s remorse. This is a common social problem that almost everyone faces.
Here is a simple use case: Sarah walks into the Gap, sees a pair of jeans she likes, takes them to the dressing room and tries them on. Now she has to decide if she should buy or ditch them. With Strike a Pose app, she quickly takes a photo of herself, shares it with friends and the general community and gets instant feedback (in the form of Buy it / Ditch it) within a few seconds of uploading the photo (before she takes the jeans off and leaves the dressing room).
We give our customers (Fashion retailers) unprecedented insight into the shopping behaviors of their customers while offering them new and highly effective ways to interact with them one-on-one (while they are actually shopping). These interactions will potentially lead to more incremental sales and an overall increase in sales and brand loyalty.
We are currently in beta, please sign up at http://unbouncepages.com/strike-.... We will be launching soon. Please note that we are still branding the app and may change its name and the actual url. Thanks
